8 November 2018. Crews from the Junior, Senior and Masters squads braved the wind and waves on the Tideway this weekend for The Fours Head and The Vet Fours Head. They came home with a solid set of results, and plenty of top 5 finishes.

On Saturday, in fairly brutal wind conditions, MRC managed six top five finishes and the Junior Challenge W4+ won their event. Well done to Molly, Ella, Eloise, Molly and cox Alice. MRC also had several newbies in the Women’s 4x- Challenge event, enjoying the Tideway experience for the first time.

The wind dropped slightly for Sunday’s race, at least until Hammersmith, and the MRC masters were out in force, with both old-hands and first-timers taking part. Repeating the pleasing results from the previous day, we once again had six top five finishes and a category win. This time the Women’s Masters D 4+ took the medals, beating all the A, B and C 4+ crews in the process. Congratulations to Victoria, Lorna, Ruth, Amanda and cox Lisa.

Well done to all the coxes and steers who brought our crews and boats home unscathed. And a particular thank you must go to the coaches, truck drivers and trailer teams. Well Rowed Marlow!
