Flows falling - care neededThe squad has grown to become one of the largest and most successful mixed ability rowing programs in the UK. The squad has included such conditions as spinal injury, polio, cerebral palsy, Parkinsons, amputation, learning disability, brain injury, and visual impairment. All levels of impairment are supported from permanent and severe disability (adaptive and pararowing) to temporary injury and milder conditions (mixed ability). All levels of skill and commitment are welcome from international Paralympic elite competitors (such as members 2012 Paralympic gold medalist Naomi Riches MBE, and future paralympian Kingsley Ijomah) to casual recreational rowers.
The MRC adaptive squad dominates the indoor rowing circuit, currently holding 10 British Rowing Indoor Championship records, more than other adaptive/para team in the country.
They have also had a lot of on water success, including many wins at local events such as our home soil regattas, Marlow Spring and Marlow Town, and City of Oxford Regatta. Success has also been achieved on the National stage, recently Georgia Walker (PR3) brought home the gold medals at Womens’ Henley Regatta, and Home Countries in 2019.
